As we are a relatively small company, in terms of number of employees, every employee’s competence and creativity is of great importance. In order for Orc Software to keep up with the market’s changes and to keep our market leading position, we continuously need to develop and improve our solutions. This creates a creative and stimulating working environment where every employee has a certain degree of freedom and also responsibilities that comes with the job. The complexities of the Orc systems in combination with developing them together with highly educated and experienced colleagues all over the world, contributes to the individual personal development.
Orc has succeeded in gathering cutting-edge expertise in both financial IT, sales and
services to the financial sector. Orc´s employees stand out in the industry through their high level of education (90% university graduates) and wide rang of different nationalities. The employees are organized in four categories:
Engineering and product management
The engineering staff designs and implements new products and features for Orc’s systems and solutions. Software development takes place mainly at the offices in Stockholm, Sydney, Moscow, Chicago and Hong Kong. Development of the market connections included in Orc’s connectivity offering is decentralized and pursued close to the respective market. Orc’s engineers typically have a background in IT or mathematics & physics, with experience in advanced programming. Many have also studied economics.
Sales and marketing
Orc Software currently conducts sales from 12 offices that are strategically located in a number of the world’s leading financial centers where the company’s customers are concentrated. This is in line with Orc’s decentralized marketing strategy which is adapted to the conditions in each region and sub-market. Many of Orc’s employees in sales and marketing have a background in the financial industry and/or experience in sales of advanced software. The majority have a university degree in engineering or economics/business administration.
Services and support
The service organization works closely with customers in implementation, education and support. The staff assists customers with system administration and in analyzing and solving problems, and can also help them to improve their business performance and opportunities. In addition, the service organization makes a valuable contribution to Orc’s product development. As a rule, the service representatives have a university degree in engineering, computer science or economics/business administration, and several have a background in trading or risk management in the financial industry.
Finance & accounting, administration and other group-wide functions
The group-wide functions are primarily concentrated in Stockholm. This category also includes staff in human resources and legal affairs.
